Out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in China, Sukothai Shanghai was my favorite. The service at the front desk/restaurant was great and the room was spacious and very clean. The housekeepers did an excellent job every day and paid close attention to detail. From putting our shoes on placemats, to refilling our fresh Ayurveda herbal tea (on the house) to neatly organizing our bags. The room was not only spacious but also pretty high tech too! The bathroom, curtains, and lights use an automated system and each room comes with a Sonos speaker. Finally, while my husband and I didn’t use the pool/gym, we took a peek and they both seemed clean and modern! We enjoyed our experience and hope to come back!!!

This was a fabulous hotel and worthy of it's 5 star rating. We received exceptional customer service from all members of staff. We booked the standard room and we found the bedroom to be comfortable, clean and spacious. The room service was also good. The location was great, being in the Jing'an district and it was very walkable to many shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. We felt safe due to the diligence of the staff at the entrance to the hotel. The only issue we identified was our room was near the elevators and the music playing in the elevators was really loud so we could hear it in our bedroom. We would stay here again on a return trip to Shanghai.

A true 5-star experience. Great location, stylish design, excellent service, spotless cleanliness, very comfortable bed, good restaurants, and a nice breakfast selection. Highly recommended and will definitely return. You likely to get very attractive rates at their own booking system.

Great hotel. Location is right on top of a mall with multiple subway lines. Breakfast was excellent - but it’s the service that sets this place apart. We admittedly stay for 9 nights - a long time so the staff at the hotel did get a chance to know us. But by about the 5th morning, the restaurant staff remembered what we ate each morning and had it all ready for us when we turned up for breakfast - including made to order xiao long bao. Super effort. My family enjoyed the whole hotel experience.

I stayed for 5 nights with a friend. The room is fantastic. It's huge and very clean. I also love the classy minimal design and the room layout. Plenty of space for our luggages. The minibar and house keeping department did very good job. They kept filling all items in the room for us everyday. The front desk staff were helpful. The location of the hotel is great, connected to the luxury mall and very close to Starbucks, street vendors Wujiang Rd, and shopping area of Nanjing Rd. I really recommend this hotel. I will be back here for sure if I visit Shanghai again.
